About

Hey y'all (I'm from the south if you were wondering.)  Welcome to my fitness and healthy living blog.  I know these are a dime a dozen but I hope you find my page relatable and fun, yet informative.  First, let me tell you a little about myself...

Nashville is my home and forever my favorite place.  I am currently living in Las Vegas and exploring what the West Coast has to offer.  I have been a full time fitness and commercial model for the past 4 years and have been lucky enough to spend time and explore some extraordinary places.  With that being said,  what in the world qualifies me to give you fitness and nutrition advice?

To start, I have a degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition from Middle Tennessee State University.  I have competed in four NPC bikini competitions and won three of them.  I am AFAA certified and have been a group fitness instructor since I graduated college.  I trained for Barry's Bootcamp in Nashville (go check it out if you haven't) and absolutely fell in love with teaching.  I took a few years off to model full time but recently started teaching spin classes in Las Vegas for Tru Fusion and am so happy to be back into it, sharing my passion with the world!

Fit tip

 Lifting weights increases the number of calories you burn at rest.  We all want to look better, burn fat, and torch calories.  Most people think the easiest way to do this is to pick any cardio machine and kill that sh**. WRONG! Although a strength training session won't burn as many calories as a cardio session, you will continue to burn calories for the next 24 hours (and sometimes even longer.) Why?  Your muscles need energy to repair the fibers. Moral of this story, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn on those off days when you dont feel like doing anything...so pick up a weight and get to pumping!
